Passenger Rail Locomotive Assembly is Returning to Canada
Our government is bringing manufacturing capacity back to Canada. For the first time in over 25 years, passenger rail locomotives will be assembled in Montreal. We’re replacing existing VIA Rail stock with 45 new hybrid locomotives.
This investment creates skilled jobs, builds domestic rail capacity, and keeps the country connected from coast to coast to coast.
