National Indigenous History Month
National Indigenous History Month is a time to celebrate the histories, cultures, languages, knowledge, and traditions of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis Peoples.
Here in Don Valley North, the namesake of the Park and Community Recreation Centre next to the Bessarion subway station was suggested by the Huron-Wendat Nation, Ethennonnhawahstihnen’ (pronounced Etta-nonna wasti-nuh), meaning “where they had a good, beautiful life”.
